London is a vibrant and cosmopolitan city with many stories and secrets to tell. We welcome you to London with a coach tour that takes in the most famous sites Buckingham Palace, Big Ben, Westminster Abbey, the Houses of Parliament, and the Tower of London. Your local guide reveals the secrets of the city and its 2000 year history.
The tour starts with a visit to the interior of Westminster Abbey, site where monarchs have been crowned since 1066 and burial place of Britain’s great and good, famous and infamous. Then we continue with a stop at Buckingham Palace and the pomp and ceremony of the Changing of the Guards (when available). We continue our day by boarding a boat to cruise down the River Thames; destination the Tower of London. Delve deep into Britain’s rich and bloody history with stories of prisoners, executions, and of course the chance to be dazzled by the Crown Jewels.
Be inspired by the dreaming spires of Oxford as you tour the colleges of this world famous university. Follow in the footsteps of JRR Tolkien and CS Lewis and visit the locations that were used in Harry Potter films. From Oxford we travel to Stratford, birthplace of the bard, to celebrate the life and times of William Shakespeare. End the day with a play performed by the Royal Shakespeare Company (when available)
Stone circles, magic, mysticism, and the Legend of King Arthur are all part of the story at Stonehenge, a 5,000 year old World Heritage Site. Your guide will separate fact from fiction, myth from reality, as you gaze upon these mysterious stones. We will then travel on to Bath, a beautiful golden hued city that will take your breath away. Drink the healing waters, visit the Roman Baths and enjoy stories of Jane Austen and Georgian high society.
Experience Shakespeare in its original setting by participating in a drama workshop at the Globe Theatre. In the afternoon, visit Wren’s masterpiece, St Paul’s Cathedral, rebuilt after the great London fire of 1666. Finally, get your head around some mind bending art at the Tate Modern.
This morning’s tour brings you to the world famous British Museum. Known as “the world in a box”. Highlights include the Rosetta Stone, key to Egyptian hieroglyphs and the Parthenon marbles. In the afternoon we enjoy the relaxed atmosphere of Covent Garden, an open air market full of cafes and street performers. End the day and your tour with a West End Theatre performance – musical, comedy, tragedy – the choice is yours.
