Walk across the Vlatva River on the world famous Charles Bridge to Hradcany Town, where you will find the commanding Prague Castle. Perched on a promontory, this Royal Residence was founded in the 10th century and has been the seat of Presidents of since 1918. Within the castle walls is St Vitus’s Cathedral, site of coronations and the resting place of monarchs, clergy men and patron saints.
Cesky Krumlov, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, ranks among the most visited Bohemian towns. Built on the banks of the Vlatva River, the Lords of Krumlov founded the castle and town in the 13th century. Highlights include beautifully preserved houses, and interiors of the Renaissance, Baroque and Roccoco periods.
Look at Prague’s history from a Jewish perspective, starting at Lidice Village, scene of Nazi atrocities in the Second World War.
